It's your life, you write your own story
So stop dreaming
What is OUTDURO?
and what's with the logo?
OUTDURO is a combination of two words and two activities - OUTdoors and enDURO.
OUTDURO was created by Rihards Grunte as a platform to share his adventure stories, pictures, videos but soon enough it grew into an association with like-minded adventure riders who now organize events, and teach adventure riding and camping skills.
What do you mean by outdoors? By that, we mean outdoor activities like camping, hiking, fishing, and cooking meals over a campfire. The adventure motorcycle helps us take more equipment and gear for outdoor activities and we can quickly move from one place to another, see more and get into more remote or hard-to-get places which wouldn't be possible by foot or by car.
So what's with the logo? Is it some sort of Illuminati all-seeing eye? Haha! That's the first thing our friends told us after seeing our new logo for the first time. Our friend and designer Elvijs Treifelds from tfelds.com delivered as we asked. The logo has to be simple and has to have something with a motorcycle and something with camping and that's what we got. It has the knobby tire as the base, it has the tent that symbolizes camping and it has the rising or setting sun that we get to enjoy every time when we're out on our adventures.
Of all the paths you take in life, make sure some of them are dirt.
From solo to an association
At the beginning of 2021, we (Rihards, Kārlis, Egīls, Lūsis) started parting ways with "Appasaule" which is a Latvian adventure moto group. We were part of that group for 2 years and we had a lot of fun helping Latvian linesmen to put together the Trans Euro Latvia tracks but soon enough we got into arguments about how things are run, so we revolted and started our own thing.
On August 13th, 2021 we signed the official documents for our association "OUTDURO". At that point, we didn't have any clear vision, goals, or values. All we knew is that we want to popularize adventure riding in Latvia and make it fun.
In the summer of 2022, we organized our first open adventure rides and we didn't know if anyone would actually join or enjoy camping as we do but for our surprise, we got many participants who enjoyed the rides an events and encouraged us to make more events as they we're interested in participating. That year things took off really quickly and soon enough we had our own association with our own vision, goals, and values. We now had a community that supported us and we supported them.
